try taking ownership of that folder and den delete ....
Press and hold the SHIFT key down, right-click on the item stion, and select "Copy as Path".
Open Notepad or Wordpad, and paste the content from Clipboard. (Ctrl +V)You can now see where the link is located, if at all, and maybe go there and delete it?
path is in program data, and of course have tried via explorer to delete, and rakeshz i have already tried taking ownership. when going to properties of the folder it is blank for data created/modified etc. think this is done for
LOL 816 days ago? Well I figured this out in 10 mins and thought I would post the solution here.
I just ran into this problem today and this one of the first sites google led me to. So I figured I would register and post the solution so people like me could find it.
Anyway what you have to do is locate the folder in program files and copy the entire folder to:
AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
After that's done you can delete it from the start menu.
If you cant find the folder in your program files simply reinstall and try again.
Sorry I wasn't here sooner..

OK i just realized my mistake..
YOU have to MOVE (not copy) the folder to AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Then delete it from the start menu.. keep deleting them until they're gone..
Dont delete the folder you just moved! Delete it from the start menu.
That's what I did and it worked.
If I have to go into regedit to help with your problem I will but I would rather not because this method worked for me.
Sorry if I made your problem worse lol.

chos, doesn't work. the folder is not able to be deleted trying your method.
bongo, whether i format or not doesn't change the issue with windows. it may not do it next time but the issue within windows is still there.
