Good Morning to all. Ever since I switch over to AOL Gold, when I shut down my computer it shuts down but starts right back up again. I 'm pretty sure its a Windows problem because it does it even when I haven't logged on to AOL. I have put up with it for awhile but it's getting annoying.

Did you try a System Restore to a point before the switch to AOL Gold?
I tried restore but couldn't find a date far enough back to restore to. Thanks anyways

How are you trying to shut down your PC?
I ask only because there is more than one way.
Try this, , , on your desktop, right click in a clear area and then click Create a Shortcut, with the following text string.
%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe /s /t 1
It's best if you can copy the above line and paste it into the shortcut. It you type it in, note the space before each of the slash (/) marks and before the trailing 1.
If you do that, you'll have an icon on your desktop for shutting down your PC, which you might label "Quick Shutdown". Only use that Icon.
If that fails to fully shut down your PC, there are two possible problems. The motherboard is NOT signaling the PSU to shut down, or....the PSU is just ignoring the signal from the motherboard. In either case, parts replacement may be in order. The PSU (power supply Unit) is easy to replace, but the Motherboard, not so much.
That could also happen, if you're using the Power Switch to shut down your PC, and you're holding the switch in TOO LONG. You should never do that, unless your PC is Locked up and nothing else works.
