I will do absolutely nothing. Keep running windows 7.

Use what ever Windows you care to use.
I use both Windows 10 and Windows 7.
I'm on Windows 7 at the present time on this computer and Windows 10 on the other computer, which is dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 10.
Windows 10 is a more secure operating system.

I just moved from XP and OLD machine to a $150 HP 8000 with 19 "monitor and Windows 7. Intend to use it as long as possible. Dislike Win 8 - hate 10. So I will be learning Linux over the next few years and say bye-bye to M$ - who I have used since DOS 1.1 and Windows 1.0. I do like Win 7 and will likely use it up to a year after support ends.
Good backups and security, security, security go a long way.
MS said that about W8, W7, Vista, etc.
Empirical data doesn't support MS' Marketing Division claims.
From CVE Details list of "Top 50 Products By Total Number Of "Distinct" Vulnerabilities":In 2015, W10 entered the list in 46th place:Note:
https://www.cvedetails.com/top-50-pr....php?year=2015
In 2016, W10 rocketed to 14th place:

In 2017, W10 climbed to 6th place:

To pre-emptively discredit claims that they are just "MS Haters", they also reported that:
- Mac OS X had more issues than any version of Windows
- Linux Kernel had more issues than any version of Windows in 2016 & 2017
That info is also basically confirmed by other companies like Avetco (although they each use their own methodologies).
Avecto notes that Windows 10, dubbed the most secure operating system ever by Microsoft, had the largest total number of reported vulnerabilities of all supported versions of Windows. Windows 10 was affected by 395 different vulnerabilities, compared to 265 for Windows 8.1 for instance.(Emphasis added by me)It remains to be seen whether shoehorning EMET into W10 will make it better:

I'll keep using 7 so long as my hardware keeps running. In my book, Reliability is more important than Speed.
When my hardware makes a new OS necessary, I'll just buy and use whichever version of Windows is current, doing my best to mitigate phoning home and security issues. If that's 10, so be it.
Linux for me is not a serious option. I've tried at least four different flavors of it over the years and they all drove me crazy. No thanks. I prefer to install an OS that actually works.
That is very incorrect.
For now Windows 10 is more vulnerable than Windows 7. W10 may be the most supported version of Windows, but it is the most vulnerable due to the fact that it is new (well, not really new, but the latest). New OS = new vulnerabilities.
And the privacy in Windows 10 is at bad level. You will need to go and do through couple of settings and software to stop most of the spying.
If one doesn't turn off many things in Windows 10 I do believe their are many doors left open.
So to the best of my ability I turned things off. Cortana and Edge to me are major problems. The cloud BS is also a danger. That is why I don't use such things. It takes a couple of week to figure out what one wants active and what one doesn't want active.
I don't have a problem with Windows 7. I'm on the "7" computer now as I type. Thinking back I also had to do trickery with Windows 7 when I first installed it years ago.
I'm just getting use to Windows 10. It is a learning experience like all new operating systems.
I don't hate either Windows 7 or Windows 10; I just learn to use both.
Thinking back, I didn't think I would ever move off of "XP" but here I am today.
We are lucky that we have choices at this time.

Im just keep running Windows 7 til its end of life support in 2020.
