ASUS GL752VW-DH74 Windows 7*** Black Screen and no boot

Replaced a stock SanDisk 128gb M.2 SSD with a larger Crucial MX300 525gb M.2 SSD. Everything went well with no issues, (cloning the OS to the new drive using Paragon Migrate 5.0). installed the new drive into the M.2 slot and booted my computer. Had power light, but no battery indicator or CPU activity. BLACK SCREEN with no activity at all. Pressing the power button shut it off but releasing the button powered it back up. A reoccurring process. Had to remove the battery to finally power it off and unplug the power adaptor. Replaced the new SSD with the original SSD, plugged the battery back in and attempted to boot again with the same results. Something has definitely gone south here. I've done dozens or builds, rebuilds and repairs over the years so I'm no novice. This is a first for me. My thoughts are the mobo somehow went south. I've done soft resets, hard resets, removing the storage HDD and all external devices and goggling until I'm blue in the face. My conclusion is still the mobo has a problem. The board is expensive so I don't want to replace it until I've exhausted all other possibilities. Any input from users here would be welcomed.
I WILL replace the board if I have to.

Hi UX02,

Im assuming that the BIOS can see the drive, what/where does Safe boot get you to.

Thanks for responding to my issue Torch.
As I stated in my initial post there is no CPU activity at all. Just a power light, Num-Lock light, black screen, no curser activity, no CPU fan running, no activity at all. I suspect mother board problems or maybe power supply. But, I do have a few lights so my thought is still motherboard. So, replacing it is the last resort IF I can be 100% sure that's the action I need to take. Just trying to eliminate all other possibilities. It's almost a $500 item.

I think it's just a coincidence that the mobo picked this particular time to head south as I've swapped and or replaced drives many times over the years.

Did you take out the main battery and the power supply when opening the laptop?
You can try to do a hard reset by taking the CMOS coin battery out and wait 2 minutes.
