Rectangular Box Flashes on Login to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Just after entering my password and pressing return, I notice a rectangular box flashes in the center of the screen over my desktop, it reminds me of an old-style Windows 2K login rectangle ... but flashes away before I can recognize anything else about it.

Any info or help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    sm

    Welcome to the Forums specialmonkey!

Do you have any .bat files set to run when you turn on your machine?

    Thanks indianacarnie,

I'm not sure if any bat files are running but msconfig startup shows quite a few checked boxes, and sysinternals autoruns shows quite a few as well, under the logon tab

    Thanks indianacarnie,

I'm not sure if there are and bats running on startup, but msconfig startup and sysinternals autoruns (logon tab) show quite a few programs selected. I tried posting a few images of these, but they need to be moderated first.

You could untick all items in the Start Up tab, except your Anti Virus. Be sure to click on the Apply button before exiting, then reboot the computer & see if things change.

Set your phone to make a video, point it at the screen, then logon. That will allow you to record a video of the popup window.

It could be a "splash screen" for some program you have installed.

One of my programs is supposed to show a "splash screen", but I only occasionally see a flash on the desktop and a button appear and then disappear on the Taskbar during login.
