    URL desktop shortcut region confusion

I'm running Waterfox and/or Firefox using Google search engine, all set to ncr because I prefer English to Dutch.
No problems and all my search results in English.
The problem is when use (double-click) a search results shortcut on my desktop it opens in Dutch?

If I first start the browser and drag & drop such a shortcut then it's English.
I've eliminated the browser/add-ons as the problem because even with a brand new profile same happens.

Any ideas how I can resolve this?

Have you looked in Control Panel, then Keyboard & Languages. Go through the various options & tabs & change the settings that should change preferences for language settings.

Changing your profile wont fix this as the underlying settings in Keyboards & Languages will override it. You will have to experiment or just remove the Dutch setting completely.

Also, try Startpage.com as your search engine. Startpage anonymizes your search request, then submits it to Google. Therefore, you will be getting the best search results (Google), without giving Google your personal information.

Also, when the search results show on the screen, you can click the "proxy" link to the right of the address it found, which lets you read the page through Startpage, rather than directly, further anonymizing your search.
