Services configuration issue

Hello.

It would seem that I am un able to make any changes to the services which are running on my laptop. This includes start, stop and any general configurations to them in general. The reason for this, (which an re-occourring error notification states).

ACCESS DENIED.

This is very odd as I am the sole user account installed upon this device. There fore would certainly assume that I have the Administrator rights assigned to my user profile.

Please, any one who can help me with this is you. I thank you massively for your time spared.

Hi pauldawson21,
More specifically, what have you attempted to do that didn't work?
click Start ORB lower left corner of screen, checkbox services.msc
Scroll to service you wish to start, stop, delay start, etc. Double-left click the entry you wish to change, In popup, drop-down menu Start Type, make change, click ok, or in Service status: start, stop, etc.
If you can access Services but the above cannot be accomplished, i.e. the box is greyed out, or the drop-down menus are empty that's another matter.
WARNING: If you DISABLE a service or services and it is critical system service, you may not be able to boot your computer. You should have a starup repair disk on hand, and or a system backup (system image) with DVD, CD, or USB thumb drive with the backup utility on it so you can correct your boo boo.

My e-mail is set to monitor posts, I usually check it a few times every day.

Yes they do! Thank you for the input samuria.
OP provided little detail regarding system specs, AV, etc. Makes it more difficult to provide assistance.

What if you run MSCONFIG, and then go to the Services tab? You can disable/enable services there.

If you still get Access Denied, then run MSCONFIG as Administrator: Type MSCONFIG in the search box, then right-click on it and choose Run as Administrator.
