The tool bar use to appear at bottom of screen --Now, it's at top?

Title of tread states the problem. ---I may very well be misnaming the "tool bar" --- but whatever it is ---somehow it got to the top of the screen. How do I move it back to bottom? Please, use language and instructions that a 10-year old could understand (I am 70+ years). Thanks. --Jaes.

Hi jaes,
Welcome to SevenForums. I'll use my 65 year old language, pretty good at assisting non-computer geeks.
I assume you are referring to the Taskbar.

If you haven't locked the taskbar, i.e. like locked your door, you can move it by left-clicking on it with your mouse, hold the left mouse button down & drag it to either side or the bottom, and release the mouse button. If you can't drag it, then it is locked.

To unlock the taskbar, right-click the taskbar, click the right mouse button. If popup windows has a check beside lock the taskbar, left-click it to remove the check mark. You can then drag it to any of the screen boundaries, i.e. left-side, right-side, bottom, or top. When you get it to the location you wish, right-click the taskbar again, click lock taskbar, a green check mark will appear alongside the entry and your taskbar is locked in place.

FYI: you can also right-click the taskbar, choose properties, and make the changes in that popup windows along with others, like make the taskbar and the icons that appear on it smaller, and return to original size, or, if you wish a slightly larger viewing area, you can check auto hide the taskbar. Auto hide does as it states it automatically hides the taskbar if your mouse pointer (arrow) is not in the area of your taskbar. To view it again if you need to click a pinned program to run it or click the Start ORB (lower-right of taskbar if the taskbar is on the bottom) all you have to do is move your mouse pointer (arrow) to the very bottom of the screen and it will appear.

Simple isn't it! Always remember, Google is your friend, you can google something to the effect of: move taskbar, or auto hide taskbar, cllick the VIDEO entry on the ribbon near the top of the Google screen and most likely you will have a plethora of YouTube video choices. I've had a computer since way back in the Commodore 80 and Radio Shack Tandy era, advanced computer literate, and I use google almost daily to learn something new or research an issue!

Google how to use AOMEI Backupper to create a system image (makes an exact compressed copy of your hard drive (that's the part that stores your Windows Operating System, your files, folders, pictures, everything. If you backup your computer regularly, if you every have a major problem, you can simply replace the copy that is on you computer that doesn't work with a perfectly good working copy you created. (the system image) It's kind of like taking a picture, of a picture, and if the original picture was damages in some way, you simply replace the damaged copy with the copy you made and put in a safe place.

Brian at Britec Computers, has several instructional videos on a plethora of computer related matters. A hyperlink is a blue colored entry you left-click your mouse on to go to the page, website, etc. I'm sure you've done it several times and now you know what it's called. I made the first four words of this paragraph a hyperlink to his website.

Hope this dissertation is to your understanding and resolves your issue!

My e-mail is set to monitor posts on threads that I post in and I check my e-mail several times a day.

Happy Computing.
