    I just need help.

Okay, I don't want to make anybody mad, and I don't want to break any rules. I am old, pretty much crippled up, and I don't know much about computers. What I want to know is can I offer to pay someone to help me with my computers. I have a lot of questions and I would just like to find someone who will answer my questions and help me. I know I will be somewhat of a pain so I don't mind paying someone to help me.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you.

Thank you very much for responding. I have posted questions before and have always found the members to be very helpful in trying to help. The problem is that most of the time I just don't understand what they are trying to tell me to do.

Have a friend come over and help you. He or she might understand what the person helping you wants you to do

    Thank you for writing me.
My wife and I moved to Enid, Oklahoma 45 years ago to be closer to family and friends. Now they are all gone and we are stuck here. But we laugh about it.
My best friend Clint passed in January.

    Thank you

New operating system - can not get it to work.

I bought a Compact CQ57 with the hard drive wiped. I sent the computer to Computer Surgeons and they re-installed the original Windows 7 operating system. But I can not get it to work. I can not get on the internet. I can get it to bring MSN up, but when I type in anything it only tells me that I have security issues and locks my computer.

    Thank you

First off, how are you attempting to get on the internet? Are you connected with a LAN cable to an internet modem or Router? Or, are you attempting to connect via WiFi, if so, is your WiFi adapter turned ON.

Many laptops have an ON-OFF switch for the WiFi either on the front or side of the laptop.

If you're up to a little road trip, put the lappy in the car and drive it on down here to FL and I'll fix it for you.
    NO Charge.

Have you talked to the guys who re-installed windows for you, to see what you may have to do to get on line? I'd almost bet that they had it on line while it was in their shop, maybe to get the latest updates.
I know I sure would! Any decent tech would do no less.

Yes, I am trying to get on the internet.

I know you are kidding, but I am 72 years old, retired, and have a motor home sitting behind my house. If I could, I would have my wife and laptop loaded up and be heading your way. But, the truth is my back is gone. I can not sit, stand, walk, or ride in a car without severe pain. Basically, I lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling. I guess you lucked out this time.

I had to mail the computer to Computer Solutions. I called them and they said that all they do is re-install the original operating system

    Thank you for writing.

Open up device manager. Are their any yellow marks to anything in device manager if so those will need drivers. Go to hp support site and find your model computer and download and install drivers for the devices that have marks next to them.
