Error 0xc000000f after installing Win 7 updates

I am unable to access my Win 7 desktop after updating just now (I'm on my desktop atm).

When I start my Dell Laptop, the Windows graphic begins but then remains on the screen for over 30 minutes. I have nothing connected to the laptop besides a power cord and my USB mouse.

When I select F8 upon startup, I get the following options. Below the options, in bold, I will type out what occurs when I try the different options:

    REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER

I get a screen titled Windows Boot Manager. It says:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

    1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
    2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
    3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    File: \Boot\BCD

    Status: 0xc000000f

Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
I have no disk for this...

Exiting out of this screen, I get the screen Windows Error Recovery with two options:

    1. Launch Startup Repair (recommended)

Selecting this takes me back to the above screen.

    2. Start Windows Normally

Selecting this takes me to the Windows startup screen, black with the Window logo and "starting windows." It then stays on this screen over 30 minutes and doesn't do anything.

    SAFE MODE

A screen comes up and runs through a bunch of files before stopping on this one:

    Loaded: \Windows\system32\drivers\aswbidsha.sys

The screen remains this way and nothing happens.

    SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING

The same event as "Safe Mode," above.

    SAFE MODE WITH COMMAND PROMPT

The same event as "Safe Mode," above.
    ENABLE BOOT LOGGING

Selecting this takes me to the Windows startup screen, black with the Window logo and "starting windows." It then stays on this screen over 30 minutes and doesn't do anything.

    ENABLE LOW-RESOLUTION VIDEO (640X480)

I did not select this option.

    LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION (ADVANCED)

Selecting this takes me to the Windows startup screen, black with the Window logo and "starting windows." It then stays on this screen over 30 minutes and doesn't do anything.

DIRECTORY SERVICES RESTORE MODEA screen comes up and runs through a bunch of files, then changes to another screen with some text about mb, very quickly, then this goes away and a black screen appears, nothing happens.

    DEBUGGING MODE

Selecting this takes me to the Windows startup screen, black with the Window logo and "starting windows." It then stays on this screen over 30 minutes and doesn't do anything.

DISABLE AUTOMATIC RESTART ON SYSTEM FAILURE

I did not select this option.

    DISABLE DRIVER SIGNATURE ENFORCEMENT

I did not select this option.

    START WINDOWS NORMALLY

Selecting this takes me to the Windows startup screen, black with the Window logo and "starting windows." It then stays on this screen over 30 minutes and doesn't do anything.

    Any ideas?

    Welcome to the Forum.

Please edit your profile and add ALL your hardware specs. It will help us to help you.

Do you have a Win 7 installation disk to do a startup repair? (any brand, same bits (32 or 64)
You have a problem on Windows boot manager (\Boot\BCD). It can be that you have a disk failure.
Using a Win 7 installation disk you can test the disk and do a boot repair.

I don't know the hardware specs or I would have put them. It's a laptop, Dell.

And as I stated in my post, I don't have the disk; it never came with one. It doesn't even have a disk drive.
