    Freezes shortly after startup

Hi everyone, my pc although old, was working fine for a while and now, shortly after I log in, launch anything, it crashes. Can’t figure out what happened. Haven’t installed anything new. Please help.

    Welcome to the Forum.

Is the CPU heat sink clean?

Download Downloads - Open Hardware Monitor
    Expand to C:\Program Files (x86)\HardwareMonitor
    Execute OpenHardwareMonitor.exe.
Under options set to run on Windows start.
Right click on Temperatures - CPU package - Mark Show in tray - Show in gadget

So I downloaded the software and checked out the CPU temps... It appears to be working fine?

Best to check by opening up and while inside give everything a proper clean. Reassemble connections and report back.

I opened it up, gave it a good cleaning. Difference made: it freezes now but after 45 minutes to an hour of use.
