Saved Folder of files as a file, can I fix it?

Somehow I managed to save a folder of files as a file (something like `copy c:\xxx\yyy yyybak`). Is there any way to convince windows it's not a file, but a folder?

    Hi hoping4better, welcome to 7F!

Would this help? Previous Versions - Restore Files and Folders Read over the info, note and warning boxes but it sounds like you'd need option three.

Thanks for the welcome! Unfortunately, no those won't work at the moment. The system is still not bootable (my other thread). Once it's bootable I'll try it, if it's still needed. Its looking like the system is hosed and i just have to start over and go through the ridiculously time consuming process of reinstalling and reconfiguring years worth of work. I have backups of the files, but not the system and configurations.

    My pleasure,

Oh, I didn't know you had other concerns, don't be discouraged it may take awhile but the BSOD team here is a good one and should be able to get you back on the road. If you can, let me know how you make out.
