Thank you to both of you. I will work on this tomorrow. .mts is AVCHD video. I have copied dozens of them from SD cards recorded by this camera with no issues. That is why I am thinking the solution will be to find some other way to get Windows (or some additional software) to look at the file.

    Hi Judy in Texas,

    Here is some information:

[1] Play Any Video Format in Windows Media Player 12
[2] Microsoft Windows Media Player 12

It says in link [2] above that Windows Media Player 12 plays the AVCHD .mts video files!

What version of Windows Media Player have you got?

    I hope this helps!

The file exist as you can play it on the camera.
If a file (any type) is written to the SD card you should be able to see on your computer. Maybe that the file has an attribute that prevents you to see on explorer.
Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Folder Options - View tab
    - Select Show hidden files, folders and drives
    - Unmark Hide extensions of known file types (for safety reasons, this should ALWAYS be unmark)
    - Unmark Hide protected operating system files

Open explorer and look for the files on the SD.
