Cannot boot after install (Xiaomi Air) help!

Hello, i successfully installed Windows 7 x64 Pro (with USB 3.0 drivers) on my Xiaomi Air BUT during initial boot, it hangs on "setting is updating registry". If i try safe boot, it hangs on "CLASSPNP.SYS"; what could be causing this? The laptop has a NVME SSD BUT i installed a SATA SSD in the second slot, so it shouldn't be related.. Of course i searched. Some people report successfully installing but nobody report my issue..

    Hi unko,
Where did you obtain the Win7Prox64? If you downloaded it from the internet, where please and did you check the hash for a match with your download?
You can obtain an iso of Windows via TechBench all editions (pro, home premium, etc. ) can be made available from any windows 7 ISO - either by removing the ei.cfg file from the source folder, or by using eicfg_removal_utility.zip
You can burn ISO to USB with Rufus 3.1 or to DVD with ImgBurn

I'm not sure where i got it but I NEVER EVER had any trouble with it. I'm sure it's not the ISO.. You seem so sure it is though?

No, I'm not so sure, just inquiring, looking for the easiest solution first in troubleshooting and providing info to obtain a clean copy. The intent here is not to invoke your ire, it's to resolve your issue (hopefully)

It is possible to cause damage to a DVD with a scratch, etc. that will cause the optical drive to misread it. You can check the DVD, which is what I assume you have, for errors.
5 Tools to Test CD or DVD Readability by Running a Surface Scan
I have used the first two tools, the rest I haven't. I prefer the first entry VSO Inspector.

Since you believe your copy of Win7x64 Pro is valid, did you try to reinstall it or place the drive in another computer and try to boot?

Here's a link to a thread with Windows 7 on Xiaomi Air 13 - Mi Notebook Air - Xiaomi MIUI Official Forum
It's a notebook not desktop-pc, hope this works for you too!

Thanks for the replies. I have already seen all the pages related to this (there are less than 10 so far..) including youtube videos showing people succeeding booting 7 after installing it on this unit. I posted on different thread and no luck.. I could try another iso though :)

Another ISO couldn't hurt anything. Might get lucky, however, after perusing several posted fixes on the internet don't hold your breath!

Did you post on Sysnative Forums? Several of the members here are forum members there. Sysnative requires you to be approved to post responses/replies for OP issues for repair options. I'm on the waiting list for their Win Update tutorial & BSOD on GeekU.

Wishing you the best of luck!
