Password to logon worked yesterday today it doesn't

Turned off my computer last night, went to logon today and it doesn't recognize password.
Have gotten into computer and setup new account, but many of my files are missing because
they are under the admin I can not log into.

I'm thinking SAM got messed up. There are several password reset utilities out there, but I don't think I can list them here. Check out Hirens boot CD.

Hi Annburt, welcome to Seven Forums,

Sorry, Forum Rules prohibit us helping with these sort of password issues [Administrator].
You could take the PC to a reliable computer shop [local technician] with proof of ownership and they will probably be able to help you.

I hope this helps!

I think the computer is on it's last leg. Now I can't get to the regedit, or add another user. Something is really wrong. I have most of my files backed up. I hope enough. Thanks

Hi Annburt, have you tried booting from a Live CD [Linux or Ubuntu] to see if you can recover your files?
