PC Restarts Automatically After Attempting To Connect To The Internet

I am currently experiencing a force restart of my computer as soon as I connect to the internet. So as soon as I enter the password for the Internet to the network and press enter, it more or less within seconds restarts the computer automatically.

Any ideas with how to fix this?

The computer is Windows 7 32 bit

Hi fatckae, welcome to Seven Forums,

Are there any yellow triangles in the device manager?

    I hope this helps!

Thank you for the quick response, however no yellow triangles are showing.

    Any further thoughts?

    When did this start happening?
Have you installed any software or updates prior to this happening?

    I hope this helps!

From what I re-call this started happening when I installed a windows update, however this was a long time ago and I don't remember precisely when it first started happening. Since then I have tried restores plenty of times, but it seemed like it was only a temporary fix.

    Any further thoughts?

    Hi fatckae,

If I remember correctly, there was a Windows Update that knocked out the network card. Before we look into that though:

Have you moved the desktop recently and maybe dislodged the network card?
Have you restarted your hub/router to see if that makes a difference?
Does the ipconfig /all look OK?

    I hope this helps!

The PC is a laptop so apart from moving the laptop around, nothing out of the ordinary. The laptop still can detect networks fine though.

I have restarted the router many times since I have experienced this issue.

How will I know if the " ipconfig /all " isn't okay? What should I be looking for?

    Thank you

In your system specifications it says PC/Desktop, that is why I asked those questions!

Please edit your profile with ALL your system and hardware specifications. This is in your UserCP > Edit System Spec setup. It will help us to help you!

The tutorial below [Published by Brink and written by CyberZeus] will enable you to see ALL of your system information. There is also an option that will enable you to easily fill out your system specifications here at Seven Forums easier.

How to See Your System Specs with "System Info"

    I hope this helps!

    Hi fatckae,

Have you got a system restore point prior to this happening?

Did you have all the latest Windows Updates prior to this happening?

Brds7t7 had a similar problem with the May 8, 2018 - KB4103718 (Monthly Rollup) Windows Update and managed to resolve it here: May 8, 2018 - KB4103712 (Security-only update) Windows 7

    I hope this helps!
