a minor problem with the taskbar in win 7

This is on a Dell Inspiron 15-3541 laptop, OS Win 7 Home 32bit. I am having a minor problem with the taskbar. When an icon is minimized to the taskbar and I move the arrow over the icon in the taskbar. The small prog box opens up above the icon. But when I move the arrow up to the small prog box, the prog box goes away. It doesn't matter if it is a single icon or many icons stacked on each other. I can't click on any of the small prog box's. Why?

    Hi reble,
Did your issue begin when you started using Win7x32?
Curious, why did you uninstall Win7x64?

1st I went back to 32bit because some of my sound card driven ham radio decoder prog's won't run on 64bit. 32bit was working fine for 4 months. This problem just started a few days ago. Other then this minor problem, Windows is working fine.

On your specs it says that you have 6.8G of memory, that is strange by the number.
Any 32 bits OS can only deal with 3.2G. To be able to use more than 4G 64 bits is mandatory.

Back to the subject of your OP, can you explain in more details the issue you're having with the taskbar?
What I can see is that you have the icons combined, that is, if more than one window of the same program is open, they will show one over the other. When you put the mouse over the icons, a window will pop up showing the two or more contents.
Try to right click on the task bar - Properties - Choose - Taskbar buttons = never combine

How Did you get my laptop memory info?. anyways when a prog is minimized to the taskbar then you move the mouse pointer over the icon in the taskbar a small win box opens just above the taskbar, you slide the pointer up to click on the box to unminimize the prog or file. When I put the pointer on the icon to open the small box then move the pointer up to the box. The box disappears. But the problem is gone. Now I can open click and open the small box.

Hello @reble. Your system specs have been added (I suppose by you during your account setup process to the "System specs" tab of your profile.

Restore to an earlier time is a no go. This is the 1st time installing this game on this laptop since reinstalling Win 7 Home 32bit. The game has run ok on this laptop before with the OS Win 7 Home 32bit. I don't know why it won't work this time. Other then a buildup of scratches on the cd.

You said the original problem is gone. Are you switching to a problem running a game?
