Have you considered that this may be a permission issue? From my perspective, this kinds of things are usually the problem. This program called Unlocker, I hear may be relevant to resolving this issue. UNLOCKER 1.9.2 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB

This would not help with my problem but thank`s anyway. Yes, it could be a permission issue but how to resolve it i don`t know. The problem is i cannot make a new un-ziped folder on the desktop>> right click>new>folder but i cannot open a regular folder, a ziped folder i can make>> right click>new (compressed) zipped folder> & the folder is created on the desktop.

Yeah that's the thing with troubleshooting. We're going to have to attempt many different possible solutions- from many different angles. I'm new to troubleshooting too. However, from my experience, whenever I had issues modifying any kinds of files, it was usually due to messed up permissions. Maybe try resetting your permissions manually? Here is an old, small guide that may serve to help you in the right direction:

Hope that helps. Keep us updated.
