Windows 7: "The User Profile Service failed the logon."

"The User Profile Service failed the logon."

I'm stuck with this Error on Windows Home Premium, and don't have another account to log into. I would like to attempt the repair. If that don't work hopefully will be able to create a new admin account.

"The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded."

I've been trying to use this tutorial and don't understand exactly what I'm supposed to do? Lots of stuff to read through there and many ways to accomplish this it seems.

1. Under "In Preparation" it clearly states I need to use a Retail Disk, but I don't see how to get to Safe Mode with a Retail Disk, and cannot find the directions to do so. Can't I avoid using the Retail Disk altogether?

2. I would like to use "OPTION ONE" - "To Fix the User Account Profile" but not sure if it is mandatory to use the Retail Disk Option? And whether or not I need to be in a Repair Mode. Can't this be done from within Windows if I'm able to get into the Hidden Admin Account from Safe Mode like in #3 below?

3. Can't I just use one of the other options like: "Enable the Built-in Administrator account at Boot" from Safe Mode?
I wonder if I can use the "OPTION ONE" with this method to repair the user profile? This would allow me to do this either from Safe Mode or Windows instead of the Retail Disk.

4. From Safe Mode can't I just use OPTION TWO "Enable built-in Administrator in an Elevated Command Prompt" from the below page?
Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

Thanks, Nasty

I just ignored this step as I don't see how you boot into safe mode from a retail disk.

"A) Using your "retail" Windows 7 installation disc or a created system repair disc, boot into Safe Mode."
