WTF is TrustedInstaller doing to my previously-stable Win7 laptop?

I'm seeing TrustedInstaller running much more than it used to. Anyone know why?

I have WinUpd set to ask me before installing anything. I manually run Windows Update every day or two.

What do I do now? It's eating 100% of CPU... mostly "Deferred Procedure Calls and Interrupt Service Routines"

And just noticed... TrustedInstaller is -now- in Stopped state... total CPU dropped to 34%, so it must have done *something* ... will root around for clues.

Are you using MSE? That's the only Windows program that should be giving you an update on a daily basis.
