    disabling autoclick

I recently bought a new laptop and I've seen this problem posted on numerous forums but apparently no solution or a solution that I can find for Windows 7.

While using the touchpad, whenever I leave the pointer hovering over something for a few seconds, it will automatically click it if it is clickable.

I want to disable this function, can anyone tell me how? It's really annoying when I stop and pause to think about something and I accidentally open up or close a program.

Hi vnsin, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Not knowing the solution to your issue, I just give you my opinion. I think this is something you have to change in the touchpad properties. Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Mouse, if you are using Control Panel with category view, or Control Panel > Mouse if you are using the small or large icon view.

Click the tab for your touchpad and choose Settings. I'm using a Synaptics touchpad, the latter image might look different in your system:

From my Synaptics touchpad settings I found nothing like the feature you described. However, IMO this is the place where you could find it in your system.

There have been a number of posts regarding problems with the touch pad and Wind 7. The solution has always been the same, touch pad sensitivity should be reduced.

Go to touch pad properties, not the mouse control

    TURN OFF touch pad tapping
    Go of pad sensitivity, minimize

    mini now behaves:)
