    WinUSB.x64.exe ... FREE Bitdefender blocks it

    On march 3rd last, Free Bitdefender blocked ...
    C:\Windows\Temp\SDIAG_7f9601df-0e4d-4455-a7e4-323a936e293b\WinUSB.x64.exe

    Of interest to me is the "WinUSB.x64.exe" ... file
    Created Date = 3-Mar-2019
    Copyright = Copyright @ Microsoft Corporation 2011
    Date modified = 17-07-12 9:55pm . . . . . . 4 years before I owned this PC
    Original filename = WinUSB.x64.exe

    Bitdefender persists in displaying an alert ...
    Malicious application blocked

    I have another earlier C:\Windows\Temp\SDIAG_ xxx\WinUSB.x64.exe ... file listed
    Created date = 28-Feb-2019
    Copyright = Copyright @ Microsoft Corporation 2011
    Date modified = 17-07-12 9:55pm . . . . . . 4 years before I owned this PC
    Original filename = WinUSB.x64.exe
    I know this is a TEMP folder but Bitdefender persists in flagging WinUSB.x64.exe as a "threat".

    I only require FREE Bitdefender BD to capture phishing attempts, as I use an anti-executable (VoodooShiled) to protect my system.
    VDS is light years ahead of Bitdefender.

    I would like to know what the "WinUSB.x64.exe" is for and how does it end up in TEMP folder if it is a system folder?
    I cannot add the EXE to BD white-list because the path is random.

    VoodooShield is OK with the "WinUSB.x64.exe" (from any path) BUT Bitdefender does not trust "WinUSB.x64.exe"

    hi bawldiggle ,

    What is WinUSB.x64.exe?
    winusb.x64.exe

    I wouldn't download any fixes though.
    You could upload the file to VirusTotal and see what info they provide
    Did you post this issue on Bitdefender Forum?

    "WinUSB.x64.exe" - I believe this is the file, downloadable from Microsoft, that allowed you to gather up all of your Windows 10 install files from your PC, and makes a bootable Flash drive from it.

    But Bitdefender basically sucks, get the demo for NOD32 Antivirus, you get a 7 day trial, which is enough to excise any actual viruses from your PC... AND it won't give you a false positive like that.
