Please help. I have Googled until my finger is BLUE

What is this? I have had this 4 times now. Google is no help. It does this by itself:-------------------------------nonstop. In the search windows, in WORD, on all my websites, everywhere. When I go to shut down. That section is blank except for the search box----------------------: and the words shut down/restart/etc. Does anyone know what this means?------------------------------------------

I think the OP is saying that the keyboard is creating constant ----------

That means the keyboard may need to be replaced or you have a program running in the background that is doing it.

That doesn't solve her problem. She needs a new keyboard.

Actually, I had this happen once myself, and it turned out to be a keyboard setting. I had hit a key and apparently turned on this weird behavior. I can't remember what it was, but I would just start hitting all the keys on the keyboard and then test for the result.

Are you referring to sticky keys? Really we don't know what the OP's issue is and the OP hasn't been back on to explain the situation.
