    Jumping Text.

Hi everyone, long time no post! Did not know where else to put this.

Wife's Lenovo B50-80, running 7 Pro 64 bit. In Office, Open Office, notepad/Wordpad, Google search bar, Firefox search or any website. When typing, text is liable to take off and drop, insert into another line of text, or jump anywhere.
I have tried all suggestions from other sources: uninstalling touchpad, fit USB mouse, uninstall and reinstall mouse and even Keyboard. Tried an external KB, same result. Currently running a USB mouse with touchpad uninstalled.
Does anyone else have an answer to this please? I am losing my sanity!

    Hello Bertison

Do you use Speech Recognition software? Do you have a microphone attached to the computer? I have seen text jumping around with no other apparent cause, after the microphone was left on.

Hi iko22 and thank you for the response.

A camera and associated microphone are part of the laptop. I have uninstalled drivers for both, as well as the touch pad. This problem suddenly began a few months ago, laptop is 3 years old and has been used with a USB mouse from new, as my wife cannot use a touch pad. Neither of us uses speech recognition software.

No need to uninstall drivers as Windows may automatically re-install plug and play devices on next Boot. As an alternative, disable the device drivers in Device Manager.

Had you double checked Mouse sensitivity or looked for dust and other particles in the keyboard?

    Thank you.

Cannot check Mouse sensitivity, it's just a simple plug and playHP mouse that takes its drivers from Windows.
I have uninstalled the drivers in Device Manager and they do not reappear after reboot.
There is no dust in the laptop, it is used on a laptop rest mount and never on a lap. The Hd is SSD from new and temps never go above 35șC.

This Lenovo website might help. It explains how to disable the touch pad as touch pad problems can cause your problem.

Thank you, Ranger, but I have already disabled/uninstalled the touchpad.

For all Input Devices, Mouse sensitivity can be found in Mouse Settings, which is here:

Start Orb > Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Mouse > Pointer Options, and under Motion, select a pointer speed.

If you have already disabled the touchpad, then I would not be tempted with altering the sensitivity.

Sometimes we tinker with software and drivers, never realizing that hardware goes bad too. It'll cost you $14 to find out.
