Win-To-Go: Chkdsk runs on system’s internal disc after using Win-To-Go

I bought this gadget which I absolutely love:

I created a Windows-To-Go type VHD file using Rufus and a Win10 installation ISO. I used Rufus's Win-To-Go creation option.

The VHD works great with the iODD but after I use it on a PC (Dell Optiplex 9010) that has Win 7 installed, I get a "Disk needs to be checked for consistency" error and chkdsk runs when I attempt to boot the system's OS from its internal disk, after using Win-To-Go. It does this every time I use the Win-To-Go and then boot the system. I also noticed the system's internal disks do not get turned offline when I use the Win-To-Go.

I also tested on a Lenovo X280 ThinkPad laptop that has Win10 installed and the issue could not be replicated on the laptop. I think that may be because the internal SSD is encrypted with Bitlocker which makes it inaccessible.

What is causing the error and chkdsk to run at boot? How can I fix this?

I believe I solved the issue by disabling 'Fast Startup' in the Win-To-Go 10 environment.

It seems Windows 7 systems do not work with this hybrid sleep state, properly.
