Personalisations not working Windows 7 64 bit

Windows 7 personalisations are not working correctly .

When I try to change the pictures in personalisations I go through all the steps select directory etc. choose it
click OK
but nothing happens.
No new photos show, only the ones that are being displayed?
Any ideas how to solve this?

Try changing the theme.

Yes I've already tried that,
This is the process I go through
in Personalizations,
1 Click Desktop Background

2 Browse
3 Select Folder where images are

But no photos come up in the display

only the ones already from the previous theme.

I have tried several themes including the windows standard ones, all with the same result.

I'm at a loss.

I think it is something wrong with Windows 7.


Can Anyone help?
