I upgraded all 5 of my systems to Win 10. I have Sledgehammer run on startup. I use Winaero Tweaker to tame the beast. Like all the past OS's I walk away and step into the future and leave to past behind. Time to get over it people.

We're all happy you like Windows 10. I don't think anyone here begrudges the fact that you do. We live in a democracy, where everyone gets to make their own choices. Ideally we all respect one-another's choices.
So why do you have to make a remark that suggests you know better than the rest of us? Why not respect our right to like windows 7? And to keep using it? But telling us we have to get over it? That's a rather condescending attitude.
Leaving that confrontational post I think I should clarify my position with Windows 7. I have bean running Windows 7 from its inception and I know all the in's and out's. I love the OS.. Sad to see it go. Then M$ sends us a curveball.. Windows 10.... I started with 95, 98,98SE, ME, XP and 7... I got my MCSE in 2000.. Ya I'm old and out dated but I know my way around don't be fooled. I loved Windows 7 and all the others in the past.. Time to move on..
I just hope you don't forget the past. Walking away from the old and jumping strait to the new usually don't pan out the best. This is beyond operating systems. Let me give you a example. Especially since in your own words you said you was "old" Well this example will probably hit you before me. Back when social security was implemented you got back what you paid in. Now you wont. Many people forgot and "moved on" from it's original purpose and now many of the older folks are not getting what they paid in and some may never get any of what they paid in. In the operating system world that sort of thinking will make it a norm that we now have to remove and download a bunch of crap if we want a clean fast running machine. Eventually if we just "walk away" all the time there will be no remove and download a bunch of crap to have a clean fast running machine. They will find a way to make that impossible. Such as not allowing any 3rd party software and remove any way of turning off all the things you don't like. So we need to remember and DEMAND less of what clearly we all don't like. If enough people refuse they will never win. If we all just walk away we will end up with a bloated slow spying machine that costs us monthly. Now you may be lucky to not live long enough to see it but any offspring you may have will.
Myself once 7 is dead i will move to something not windows..... There must be a point in time a person has to draw the line and draw that line soon enough it is not to late. Now if 10 did not come with all the bloat and spying crap I'd be fine moving on.
I'm not sure what exactly the bloat is. The spying, that's another matter, I have my 10 install disconnected from the internet for now and it took me a while to "stop", "disable", and "uncheck" everything telemetry related that I could see and now I need to try and see what the rest will do when I get the time. The bloat though I have not seen and the system is pretty fast compared to 7.

Isn't that bad you buy a new computer and can't hook it to the internet till you spend some time cleaning it up and stopping the spying? I know I spent a couple hours cleaning up a new one for my wife just a couple days ago and I'm not done yet. It would take much less time to install a different operating system such as linux. Box stock 7 to box stock 10 in my experience 7 is not only faster it is faster by a very large margin! Maybe after you clean up 10 it can be fast but then you could just clean up 7 as well.... I don't know anyone who tested both cleaned up side by side speed test. I see people saying 10 is faster after clean compared to 7 unclean.
But again why should one have to buy something new then spend a few hours making it what it should be out of the box which we once had with 7? At least offer us a 1 click no bloat no spy windows 10. If enough people fight the "downgrade" of windows 10 microsoft may give us what we want just so we see it as a upgrade and move on.
You have to realise that the majority of the bloat that comes with Windows 10 is only with the home version, the pro version is much cleaner the only games I recall being installed on my systems is the solitaire collection, and most of the telemetry options are exactly that - options, easily stopped.
Windows home is specifically designed for use by non computer literate users, so is in essence is designed as a large phone or tablet device, where all the maintenance is automatic based on feedback to the developer from the system
I set up PC's for my friends and customers, and the hardest part of setting up a new PC from a Big Box store, is the crap that the PC maker puts on their PC's.
I just set up a new HP desktop PC for an old friend of mine. It was a gift from his kids.
It took several hours, to clean it up and finish the install. The PC has Windows 10 Home on it, and it more or less refused to install without a MS Account. Arggg! He doesn't have an MS account and doesn't want one. (Me too!)
I was finally able to get it to set up with just his name and email address. Then it demanded we use either a password or pin number. What a P.O.S.!!!
So there is NO way he can just start up his personal PC without having to put in his PIN number.
Before I left, I mentioned to him that if someone gave me a new PC like that, I'd wipe the HD and install Windows 10/Pro/64 on it, and I would be able to set it up without a MS Account or Password.
I suspect that MS is loosing a lot of customers by being so High Handed, demanding and unreasonable. Not to mention, "Invasive".

The Registry edit method is not for an absolute beginner, but I'm sure it's well within your capabilities and it works on Home where the user editor is not present
