Funny, I always heard called the boogyman (and i'm in my seventies). Buggerman isn't exactly nice.

    Me too.

    Wikipedia: boogyman

Couldn't find buggerman except in Urban Dictionary, and it's got a rather different definition.

Thrash Zone--let everyone find their own solutions. Not everyone has the confidence to use the OS after EOU (End of Updates.)

You have to realise that the majority of the bloat that comes with Windows 10 is only with the home version, the pro version is much cleaner the only games I recall being installed on my systems is the solitaire collection, and most of the telemetry options are exactly that - options, easily stopped.

Windows home is specifically designed for use by non computer literate users, so is in essence is designed as a large phone or tablet device, where all the maintenance is automatic based on feedback to the developer from the system
But these basic packages, starter or home, are effectively the version[s] that come from OEM's, it is the version that consumers get when they buy a laptop or prebuilt PC [I highly advise against that, instead to build your own pc]. To get the pro versions the consumer needs to fork out more money. ugh a practice that isn't exactly consumer friendly... My Vista ultimate disc and product key had msrp of over one hundred us dollars [I got it second hand in the original packaging for much cheaper]

That's the polite way to put it.

    Hi,
    No John Wayne fans around

Well I was just trying to establish if you thought at the end of January 2020 there will be some sort of win-7 security vortex established

So all win-7 users after said date they will be sucked in it if connected to the internet ?

I went most of 2018 and 2019 without updating matter of fact I only updated in December of each year.
Nothing bad happened between Jan-November on either year on everyday usage on 3 win-7 machines.

It's a celebration not a disaster eol is finally here

Regarding the question of privacy, I use/subscribe to Abine's two services Blur and DeleteMe, ever since seeing the CBS 60 Minutes segment on data sharing many years ago. Blur installs to browsers and filters-out all/most trackers and DeleteMe goes after those People Search sites that compile data on us. This latter is sorta pricey but I am glad to have THEM do the onerous work of finding and expunging my data--it is amazing to me how many personal data collection/sharing sites exist today.
