unclear display with text hard to read?

    hi all

Since last month I've been using a guest profile rather than the owner profile on my computer (Dell Latitude) for security reasons.

I did something to try to make the computer quicker, and now everything is more difficult to read. I've tried changing various things in Control Panel/Appearance and Personalisation, but to no avail.

I did a Restore Settings using my owner profile, and now it all displays as before - i.e. as I want it - in my owner profile, but it's still displaying as in the attached images in my guest profile (which obviously I can't change in this way as I don't have admin rights).

Any ideas to restore the display to how it was before? It's quite annoying, esp as the computer isn't running too slowly anyway!

ClearType is a font smoothing technology designed to smooth the fonts on your screen with subpixel rendering so that they are more readable on LCD displays.

Hit Start, type cleartype and then select “Adjust ClearType text.”

Also go to Control Panel --> System --> Advanced System Settings click Settings button under "Performance" section. At Visual Effects tab select Let Windows choose what's best for my computer.

Thanks! It seems to be a bit better now, but still not as good as what I have with the owner profile.
