Hello,

I’m not sure if this is normal Windows 7 Search behavior or not, but it's something I am just now noticing. I searched for a file on my computer, and it showed up as the file type in the location it should be, but also an internet shortcut showed up for the file as well. It’s not a URL…the location of the shortcut is the same as where the actual file is, but it has %20 mixed in all throughout the name of it.

I have “Show Hidden Files” ticked in File Explorer options, and so I assume this internet shortcut is a hidden file that is showing up, but it’s not in the folder where the actual file resides, just in the search results for that file.

It is only happening on files I have recently opened up…I tested it with an older file that I hadn’t touched in a very long time, and that doesn’t show up with an internet shortcut in the search results, but when I opened the file, then did a search for it on my computer, the internet shortcut shows up in the search results.

Is this normal behavior?

Thanks!
