about 10GB missing data

    about 10GB missing data


    my C drive properties reports
    used space 31.4 GB
    Free space 37.7 GB
    Capacity 69.2 GB

    but when i go into (C:) the folders i get are
    ATI 100MB
    MSOCache 0 bytes
    Perflogs 0 bytes
    program files 917 MB
    program files x86 4.80 GB
    programData 92.7 MB
    Users 325MB
    Windows 14.5 GB

    hidden folders are shown, so where has the other space gone?

    thanks for the replys, i had 'hide protected operating system files' ticked as Qdos mentioned
    the hidden system files are
    hiberfil.sys 4.49 GB and
    pagefile.sys 5.99 GB

    windows 7 is a bit of a monster

    Turn the page file off if you have 4GB+ RAM. If you don't use hibernation, turn it off from the command line: powercfg -h off.
