How To Fix "remote Procedure Call Failed"

When I try to access my file types menu in the Windows search/indexing menu, my window locks up/hangs and will not load. I usually have to force-close it, and I get the "Remote Procedure Call Failed" error.

I did a little research and tried making sure that Remote Procedure Call (RPC), DCOM Server Process Launcher and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator were all set properly (which they were).

Just wondering if anyone knows what's locking this up?

This is a bullshit statement. I run real-time virus protection, sandboxed browses and do monthly scans. I have not gotten a positive virus detection in...so long I can't remember. Maybe a decade or more.

So anyone else have a more useful insight?

You jumped to a conclusion with very little information to back it up. I would have been more impressed with your 30 years of experience had you asked a few questions first and tried to zero in on a real answer. So in this instance, no, you didn't know your job. Maybe you are quite capable. Just something to think about for the future.
