Ive not read all the replies yet but wanted to say that i feel im having more crashes and "not responding" windows with a clean install of HP than i ever did with my last setup which was 7260, upgraded from 7200 through various leaks.
Im not giving up on it on my main PC but getting close to going back to XP on my Netbook.

Just my thoughts.

Dave.

If it's a netbook and has less resources I'd go with XP or something less resource hungry as netbooks aren't supposed to be all crazy right? Just browsing and word processing?

love windows7 had no problem with vista either. heard alot of complaints about vista but it ran perfect for me.. i just like the setup a little better on 7 and the looks a lot better. although i am partial to the OLD look. im very happy with the 7 looks the only thing i really hate the driver enforcement. and everything i have seen and tried doesn't work so far.

F8 works every time, though it's a pain in the ass.

Then I'd look at driver compat and Win7 problems? I have a few off drivers that I have installed with F8, though in the end I just get different hardware. It's not worth it if I have to hit F8, I'll pay for not having that option. =P

Well, they work i know. Most of them are OC tools and such. But windows 7 x64 just will not accept them. were as 50% of the time my vista x64 would

Sorry, i should have been clearer.
Its my Main PC i have more trouble with now than before, not my Netbook.
I mentioned the Netbook because it seems to get less out of the battery than when it had XP on it so i might go back to XP on that.
Funny thing is i dont have any problems with my Netbook other than it seems to be running flat out and so yes,it seems a bit underpowered although it is just as fast, maybe a bit faster, at some things, than XP.
I am sticking with W7 HP on my main PC. Im sure things will get better.

I tell them to wait till it's time for them to buy a new computer and it will be preloaded with 7. What on earth is the sense for them to spend $150.00+ for a new OS on old hardware that will most likely be problematic because of the hardware?????

Thank you for letting me know I've received no benefit since dumping XP last December and using every version of 7 since. Me and my 6-year-old desktop with multiple hard drives, 5-year-old laptop, 8-year-old laser printer, 6-year-old non-apple mp3 player and 6-year-old digital camera must have been so delusional the past year. Been so distracted by a lack of problems that I've missed all the problems I should be having.
