Retiring Windows 7 Anyone Else?

Thank you for letting me know I've received no benefit since dumping XP last December and using every version of 7 since. Me and my 6-year-old desktop with multiple hard drives, 5-year-old laptop, 8-year-old laser printer, 6-year-old non-apple mp3 player and 6-year-old digital camera must have been so delusional the past year. Been so distracted by a lack of problems that I've missed all the problems I should be having.

I'm with you Colonel Travis this old Dell XPS Gen 2 P4, mutipule hd's, agp Ati 3850, Audigy ZS sound, they just work. Yah i had to put my sound and video drivers in which i had to use compatibility mode. The problem is not with the OS furnishing the drivers, its the responsebility of the hardware companies making up to date drivers for the new OS, they had plenty of time to get ready, we tested for over a year, then the user has some responceability to learn how to install things the proper way.

Now tell us what you really think, you don't plan on retiring 7 but 7 will retire you March 2010 so enjoy till then. It does take a little learning to get mail in and out, faster is in the eye of the beholder or user, it subjective. Enjoy your XP for as long as you can.

Hmm, that is really unfortunate. It must have something to do with the 8600GTS and the driver. With my 9500GT I have no problems at all. Videos work as they do on Vista.

HAHA the blocky picture thing is easy to figure out as he must have a problem with resolutions. =P If you knew how images worked you'd understand that the less blocky = the higher the resolution.... so either he's running a very high resolution OR he's running a really low resolution, though I doubt it's really low because that wouldn't make low res pictures look bad they'd look better. So what to do? Lower the resolution and I bet he'll find movies play better.

I have an 8600 GTS and it works fine.

Then I wonder if tweaking is damaging system files. Try running sfc /scannow and possibly Repair install.
