Post a link to this software please. Is it the Azure branded software? I have no idea what this Microsoft Virtual Desk Tool is.
Are you trying to remote into a local or remote computer? I can offer two alternative solutions if this is the case. I use both and they work well.
The first is
Input Director. This is a virtual KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse). I have a laptop sitting here on the desk and if I want to interact with it using my current desktop mouse/keyboard I just use Input director.
Alternatively, if I want a full screen KVM so to speak, I'll use
TightVNC locally, and ONLY locally. Never over the Internet through a forwarded port. For over the Internet usage I use a program called
ZeroTier. ZeroTier creates A VPN of sorts (there's a proper name but I can't remember it) and now I can punch though a firewall and don't require a forwarded port to get remote access to my computer. ZeroTier has an App as well.
If you're paying for that Microsoft product and it's doing what I just described you're being ripped off when there are better and free alternatives... Unless of course this is all about company compliance and shit...
