Desktop shortcut to 'Search Programs and files'

There is an excellent KEYBOARD shortcut to SEARCH - viz WIN-F, but I'd like a shortcut that I can click on with the mouse. Available ?

    What is viz?

Right click the desktop and select New | shortcut.

For the location enter this: %windir%\explorer.exe search-ms:

Name it something like Search. Doesn't matter what you name it.

Right click the icon, chose properties and change the icon. Go to %windir%\System32\imageres.dll for a copious amount of icons.

    That's it.

Alternatively, and this is what I use, is the Everything.exe program. This is by the the best search program for beginners and advanced users and is fast, really fast. Because I use this program I turn off the Windows indexing service to help save on unnecessary writes to the drive since I use flash media like SSDs and NVMe.

Believe me, once you learn how to use Everything.exe beyond its basic search ability you will never look at Windows search again. But then again, I am a power user...
