When will windows 11 become worth upgrading to?

    its free-upgrade to Windows 10/11 stopped last year.
    now you have to pay to upgrade.

    If you ever upgraded from W7 to W10 before MS closed the free upgrade then your PC will have a digital licence for W10, even if you reverted to W7. MS finally ended the free upgrade in September 2023.

    A digital licence for W10 is also valid for W11, it's exactly the same Digital Licence.

    Bree is correct.
    I purchased refurbished Dells which came with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.
    I later did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit in them.
    I then later did a clean install of Windows 11 Pro 64-bit in them.
    The Windows 10 license was still recognized and allowed Windows 11 to activate.
