Is anyone still using Windows 7?

I have IBM 286's with DOS v3.2 up to Win7 Pro that was upgraded from Vista...and that's far enough at my age. That stuff from the '70's still works as it did when it was new...5 1/4" floppy's and 10Mb hard drives...you can "feel" the computing power right through the table-top !
You must be thinking about the 1980's...
The first microcomputer was the Altair 8800 in 1975. I never used one but did get to use a couple IMSAI 8080s where I worked. They had dual 8-inch floppy drives. They also had 10MB (5MB fixed/5MB removable) hard drives. BTW, the hard drives were about 2/3 the size of a washing machine.
The IBM PC didn't come out until 1981. They came with 5-1/4 inch floppy drives. Most people probably didn't use hard drives for a few years because they were very expensive then. The IBM PC/AT that came out in 1984 did come with a 20MB hard drive. It was very expensive at $6000 which was a lot of money back then.

The earliest machine I have is a 12 bit (8 + 4) that was built around '79 in Bellvue, WA. It did not use a battery for bios. It just crapped out a couple weeks ago with a tantalum capacitor that failed, smoked, and shorted the power supply. The KALOK 10Mb hard drive will not spin anymore now. The power supply survived, but I'm not sure if the boards did. I have an old DSO scope that I'm learning to use to troubleshoot digital circuits and waveforms.

I was beginning college in 82, and the hot chips then were Motorola 6800 and the Intel 8080/8086. Some of the engineers from intel started a new company called ZILOG and developed the Z8085 in those days. I was learning radio & digital electronics and some basic programming, but the technology moved on so rapidly that we all got left behind to survive by other means. All that TTL bi-polar stuff is probably MOSFET transistors now. When the computer lingo started talking about PnP , I thought they were describing the type of transistors (PNP v. NPN) being used on the new computer circuit boards. Many years later I learned the abreviation meant plug & play... yea...

Hello everyone, I still use Windows 7 and like plan to keep using it for daily browsing.
What antivirus do you use or plan to use in the future? Or what else do you plan to do with regards security.
I wonder if any browers will continue to support 7 with updates after Firefox ends in 2024. Such as Waterfox, I suppose not as they hobble along after FF.
If you don't suffer from Russophobia, the combination of Yandex browser and Kaspersky free is a very good option for Windows 7.

Still a faithful Kaspsersky user here and I imagine that isn't about to change any time soon. I don't see Firefox removing the older versions of their browser from their web page either. You can still download them if you want and keep them on a drive for future use.

We have five daily use Windows 7 machines and they are as good today as they were when 7 first came out, maybe even a lot better.
Windows 7 and XP are the only operating systems I have and I don't see me changing at all unless something drastic happens.

Hello all,
I still have my old Windows 7 Desktop, but it's been retired from daily operation. It's still hooked up and ready to go. I only use it for troubleshooting purposes now.
I've gotten spoiled using this lightning-fast Windows 11 machine.

I think Windows 7 is still used on Virtual Machines. I use Windows 10 on my PC.
