How do I stop Window 7 from making movies out of pictures I upload ?

Every time I upload a pic in my PC it makes a little blank video of it. If I upload 8 pics it makes 8 videos of each one of the pics. I would appreciate any help to solve this problem.

Sounds like you have software installed that is doing this as Windows doesn't do that by default.

    Thank you.

Do you have an idea what kind of program would cause to make videos out of pics ? I don't know what to look for in my PC. Maybe it would be in my Control Panel where if I knew what to look for I could uninstall it.

Type Programs and Features in the search bar under the Start orb.

I did that but, didn't see anything about movies. In the Start Menu I found a program named Movie Maker. I deleted that and then uploaded a pic and it still made a movie like before. When I deleted that I thought I had solved the problem but, it didn't.

What are all the programs you have installed?

Run Autoruns and wait till everything loads. Go to File above in Autoruns and save the ARN file. Zip that ARN file and upload here please.

When you "upload" a picture, how are you doing that? From the phone? What? What kind of images? Jpgs, Gif, etc?

I'm Sorry I haven't responded for a while. I have been having vehicle problems. My transmission wouldn't shift. I was stuck in 1st and 2nd gear. I have been working on it myself. Too expensive to take it to a dealer. Found out it was an Electronic issue. Been buying parts and I finally fixed it. Was too stressed over my vehicle to try to fix my PC. But, I finally repaired it.

I upload my pic from my I phone. and they are JPG's.
I haven't installed any programs in a long time.

Another thought. It could simply be a file association mess up. What I mean by that is that there's a program handling jpgs and thus making them look like videos. To check what program handles jpgs do the following:

Go to the start orb (bottom left) and in search begin typing, Change the file type associated to a file extension. Now run down the list to the jpg entries. The default handler in Windows 7 should be Windows Photo Viewer. If not, double click on the entry/s and change.

I found 3. The top on is JEPG image, Second one is JPEG file, the third one is JPG file. The top one default Windows Photo Viewer, The Second default is HP Photo Viewer and the third one is default HP Photo Viewer.

So it's possible the HP Photo Viewer is doing this. Not sure unless I'm at your computer. Double click the ones that say HP Photo Viewer and change those to the default Windows Photo Viewer. Now try viewing a jpg from your phone.
