Can't switch to a dir on my L drive - why?

    Hi

I open a command prompt, and type:

    C:\Temp

And I am now in that folder

I open a command prompt, and type:

    L:\DR

It doesn't switch to that dir

Yes, there is such a folder :)

    What am I doing wrong?

Each drive has its own "current" folder and in turn each program has its own current drive, but the "cd" command changes by default only the directory, but not the drive. In the first screeen you're on the same drive, so it's no problem, but in the second you aren't so it appears that nothing happened when in fact it did. Just switch drives with "L:" afterwards and you're there.

Or use the shortcut by SIW2 of adding the "/d" modifier that makes cd change both directory and drive in one go.
