I agree software as well. After reading the post form the video game guy its no wonder code is so sloppy today. I had someone ask me if there photoshop they bought in 1984 was going to work with 7 x64. These people need to got off there couches and go outside its 2010 people ..... 2010. You know what if my software doesn't work you know what I do? I find new software, its that simple.
in a perfect world we would all have the money and time to pay and upgrade and unistall and install every single bit of software as soon as there was an upgrade unfortunatly not everyone has that luxury.. i myself have a lot of pay software and some of them are pay once have a free key for life but like windows 7 and office 2007 and photoshop where you pay hundreds of dollars/euros, its costly to keep upgrading. and let alone have time to unistall it all and install new software..

i like to upgrade.. well not right away espesially with operating systems i leave it about 6 months for all apps to be compatible and drivers..etc

i guess some people are also happy with what works for them they spent time to learn the program they dont want to upgrade and have to learn the new gadgets or feel no reason to upgrade maybe the upgrades in the upgrade are not worth it.

i dont agree because it would be more costly to the customer forcing them to pay and upgrade everything. would probably mean less money for m$ also doing that.

personally i will be upgrading to windows 8 pretty much 6 or so months after release.
I guess I'm just lucky, for me their is no learning curve. I can freely move in and out of any operating system without having to "learn" hardly anything. I understand what your saying at the old office we had some older guys and every time they got a new piece of software it would take them days or weeks to figure it out. Windows XP, Vista, and 7 haven't changed that much. You click the globe that that's were your apps. are. Its not rocket science at least I hope not.

You state you don't have time to install an OS so since Vista came out what 4 or 5 years ago you don't have 2 hours to install an OS. That sucks, I could not live like that.

Upgrading software creates jobs if you don't have the money to upgrade the software that makes you money your kinda stuck in a loop wouldn't you say? What if you created Maden football? I'm happy with Madden 02 on my Original xbox? So I guess that means no games sales for you? If it wasn't for people like me you would be out of a job. People like you are killing the software and gaming industry with your I'm not paying for anything mindset.

Stick with what works for you. I don't know who you make games for but I thought that most game developers had systems they used to create games, not regular 10 year old PC with crappy hardware and software.

Good luck and try not to "Hate" theirs enough of that in the world already.

PS your not going to upgrade to Windows 8 your going to be stuck in Windows XP until you die.

One more thing.. that toolbar you speak of are you talking about quick launch? You can absolutely add quick launch to windows 7. The thought is you don't need it cause you can pin any application to the taskbar so theirs no need for quick launch.
me pesonally i always upgrade i even have a test lap top i install all the betas

i love upgrading i spend ages doing it and it doesent take me long to get used to changes the application or os may have..

but what i meant is for others who dont always have the time to do so..maybe they have a family or it just doesent intrest them that much there is many reasons for someone to not want to or be able to upgrade so i dont think its fair on customers to make them upgrade..

i dident want to upgrade straight away to 7 because i was sure all my apps wouldent work yet so i waited.. vista i also waited until i got my new lap top which came with vista so it was at least a year after vista was released. plus everyone was trash talking the os.. but i liked it..minus the fact it needs a lot of ram to run

my university has xp still on the pcs and office 2003 and all the old programs and i hate it because i have 2007 and 2010 on test lap top and i hate having to save as 2003 word or documents each time.

im not one of those persons that stay with the old because it works.. i love upgrading and buying new gadgets and games normally not right away i avoid the rush so to say go in my own time and buy cds and so on. im not in a rush to do it..

i had the rc of win 7 installed for ages to its still on my test lap top..

so i am the type of person to make the seller richer haha always buying new things..

im just pointing out not everyone is like that and m$ would probably lose more money making everyone upgrade because they wouldent they stubornly refuse to..
