First thing to check ....
Right click on one of the files that you cannot copy and select properties then security.
Without giving away any personal information post back with the details of who has permissions on the file and what those permissions are
Also click on the advanced button then ownership and report the owner of the file
Also provide the same for a folder containing files you cannot copy (same method as for file)
If this is a permissions issue which is possible re-installing the Operating System will not cure this
Also download malwarebytes Malwarebytes.org and run a quick scan. Takes 3 to 4 minutes.
Some people have been having problems with kis 2010 antivirus. Uninstall it and see if that fixes it.
Just today 12/21/2009 I am unable to paste after I right click and copy and the problem is on ALL 3 of my PC's. I need to edit my website and it won't allow me to paste HTML code in my program. And I keep getting the message "Internet Explorer has stopped working" I'm beginning not to like 7 and wish I could go back to Vista or even XP at this point.
[Edit] Ooops, you said Internet explorer, I read "Exploer"... "Never mind!" :) [/edit]
LordBob, Everything worked yesterday on ALL 3 PC's and I did nothing different today. My desktop Dell came pre-installed and my old laptop Dell I installed the upgrade from Vista and my new Laptop Toshiba came pre-installed with it. I already did a Malwarebytes scan and no spyware, malware or anything. It's quirky for sure.
Yes, I have been using AOLPRESS for many years. The puzzling thing is that it all just stopped working today. Before this it worked fine on ALL 3 PC's. ????
