Need Win7 for old apps. Can I run Win7 & old apps from flash drive?

With my "new to me" Lenovo ThinkCentre running Win11Pro, I am no longer able to borrow ebooks from public library. AdobeDE 4.5 just won't work and support communities have no solution.

In a recent post @SIW2 has provided me with info to set up my old Thnkpad with Win7, which was my solution to the ADE4.5 dilemma (use an old computer to download books to transfer to devices).

But in reading explanations about what some of the programs/utilities do, mention was made of running Win7 or a Win7 program from a flash drive. It isn't clear to me.

So my question is, can I install Win7 and ADE on a flashdrive and use it to run them from my ThinkCentre, running Win11? If if this is possible I could set up my old laptop so that is could be used by someone else as all I need is a way to use ADE4.5 to download ebooks. Thanks.

Look at the posts in the thread ADE for Windows 11. Some people were about to get Adobe Digital Editions to work in Windows 11.
