    when i open event viewer I get the message


    How do I solve this?

    Did installation of EMET cause this?

    If it was working right before EMET and messed up after that could be it.
    Uninstall EMET and see.
    Do a restart/reboot after uninstall so Windows resets.

    I'd doubt it, bagavan. EventViewer still opens normally on my computer. This issue must have been in place prior.

    If you've already jumped through the hoops presented prior, take Hopalong's advice and perform a system restore. I'm pretty sure it's not EMET but the restore should take you back to the time when your EventViewer worked properly.

    When's the last time you checked it and it opened normally?

    As referenced by DeanP, above, did you get this far in the thread he linked you to?
