If I click on sleep from the start menu it goes into sleep mode. I'm using the high performance setting
Try Balanced Plan and accept defaults given.

If it sleeps when you click on Sleep then it is the timers and they may not work in High Perf since that is full-bore everything.
It sleeps when I click on sleep from the start menu, doesn't when the computer is idle. Just started doing it today, haven't installed anything

Then System Restore to before it started happening and it should correct it.

If you have it set to high performance then my post is the problem (most likely).

My first response to this is always the same. Did you look under Power Options/advanced setting/multimedia settings/when sharing media/setting

change to allow computer to sleep.

I really dislike the fact that MS has this set to prevent sleep by default.

Otherwise check to see if their is a updated video card driver for your system. Nice monitor by the way that things a beast.
Which is the setting that keeps it from sleeping when copying files over network, or copying files on my desktop?

That I'm not real sure of, all I know is the multimedia settings are so your PC doesn't fall asleep while your watching a movie on your xbox 360. You do this all the time right? j/k

Tried all your suggestions from your post without success. This is a problem I've battled for years off and on with no sane reason to explain why it keeps happening

Back from sleep / monitors no signal

I recently assembled my system and it works like a charm, but after a friend of mine had a go at my comouter he asked me to build him a similar rig, well we got prett much all the same except for ram he ended up with only 4 gigs by Kingston,
the problem is his computer will go to sleep but on awake it wont send signal to the monitor so the computer turns on but the video is dead...,
has anyone have similar problems ???
We even changed swapped his video card from my system and nothing, I am thinking it either is the mobo or the monitor.his mobo is a bit better than mine as its asus p5q pro...

    anyone???

    thanks.

If you start a new thread with catch-all title you will find out faster than piggybacking in this one.

No biggie, just learned this myself from the crickets chirpin.
