safely remove hardware does not even exist!

I cant find the safely remove hardware icon in customize notification area, its not even on the list! and when i found advice online for how to find it -

    rundll32 shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll

    the search turned up nothing!

can someone tell me what to do or where to find it in my system? why should i have to download a free program online for safely remove hardware when it should be on my computer?

Hello Genxie, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You can use that path to create a Safely Remove Hardware shortcut to use instead if you like. It opens the same thing.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    You're welcome Genxie.

If this happened not to long ago, you might consider a system restore using a restore point dated before this something went wrong to see if it may be able to fix it for you.
