"Quick Launch" icon for the desktop?

Old Vista habits die hard. I always placed a "Desktop" icon in the quick launch toolbar so that I could instantly close all windows and show the desktop. In 7, I have found that right clicking the taskbar will offer a "Show the desktop" choice which does the same thing. But, is there a way to place a "Desktop" icon on the taskbar to be used in the manner I used it in the "Quick Launch" toolbar??
