Windows 7: Why So Many Problems With Windows 7?

i have to say i was NEVER a fan of xp, it was a very hollow os, the first thing i always did was strip it down to the core components and create a custom user shell so that i could have the functionality i wanted. vista was a mixed bag for me, when it launched the biggest problem most users faced was that their hardware just wasn't capable of running it the way it was intended, by the end hardware had surpassed those initial limitations and it was pretty good. however i felt like they put to much effort into making it pretty and ignored things that would make it more useful. with windows 7 i've been pretty happy, i haven't felt the need to drop the default shell which is a huge thing for me. it does lack a few features i'd like but i'll eventually find a way to add those in or learn to do without. the UI is amazing, and well thought out, it's incredibly stable (for me at least, and that often takes a miracle) im just very pleased with the package as a whole.

I never had any of these issues with vista that were being reported, but again it's down to the hardware vendor to produce the software that works.

All 3 of the major operating systems in the past decade(by microsoft) have been good to me it's just that xp is past it's sell by date and vista had bad press from the outset. Seven without doubt is the way ahead..

I feel you have a valid point, although I had not considered it until you mentioned it.

If I may, one might take into account what it takes to market to the buying public. While those of us who are technically adept might appreciate a better performing OS, only one with lots of pretties, or bells and whistles would successfully market widely. Wouldn't you agree?

Cheers!

unfortunately yes. but i'm glad that windows 7 seems to have really put some thought into the power user group and gave them some of the features they really wanted as well. it's a nice balance.
