Win 7 is very much better than XP. I did not have a high end video card. I bought one and it still said that it would not support Aero. It supports it just fine. I would think yours would also. You should go ahead and install. Good luck.

Depends on the cards, but the early 6xxx series for nvidia supported them I think? But either way your computer should do fine under Win7, though a little more ram and better gfx wouldn't hurt for games, you should be just fine. Most programs don't utilize multi-core as well as they should, so single core isn't so bad. I just upgraded, the main thing I notice is how fast windows boots but it still angers me on loading times =O

you should consider upgrading your ram to at least 2GB I suggest.

Go with 7. It'll even run on 1GB (unlike Vista), and it's better than XP for the same performance. If you get 2GB (a good idea anyway), it'll run even better.

I've installed it and you guys were right. It runs super smooth. I should have realized it would work since my pc has a dedicated graphics unit and my laptop has an intergrated, and it works on my laptop.

I'll probably either end up changing out ram and gpu and stuff like that on this pc soon, but for now things are working great. Lag free, all effects run smooth like aero etc.

    Thanks
