Windows 7: Getting rid of hovering window preview?

16 Sep 2011   #31

Windows 7 64 vut

1. On the left hand side of the screen – Single Click on the Start Button
2. Hover over the Control Panel (do not click on it). A menu will appear on the right.
3. Arrow down the menu page until you see Performance Information and Tools – Single click on this item
4. The Performance Information and Tools screen will appear
5. On the left hand side of the screen you will see – Adjust visual effects – Single click on this item
6. The Performance Options screen will appear
7. Uncheck the item that says Windows choose what’s best for my computer
8. Check the item that says Custom
9. Arrow down to the bottom of the menu
10. Uncheck the item that says Use visual styles on windows and buttons
11. Click Ok
12. The change is immediate - You will not need to reboot your computer

I hope this helps. It worked for me and I have also helped 10 different co-workers that just migrated to Windows 7 and it worked for them as well.
